В порту яхты был магнитный трал, который должен был на глубине около 2 км ползать по дну Тихого океана и ловить все металлические частицы, которые могли бы там найтись на площади в несколько сотен квадратных километров.

С помощью этого трала пытались найти обломки астероида, обломки метеора, пролетевшего здесь в небе 9 лет назад. Спустя несколько недель поисков удалось достать так называемую сферу.

Это микроскопические, размером меньше миллиметра, металлические шарики, состав которых напоминал состав метеорита. Однако с существенными отклонениями. Скорее всего, по мнению Аве Лба, это был космический зонд, вроде наших вояджеров, только ещё меньше, который и сгорел в атмосфере над Тихим океаном.
