Our New Account System

Hey guys, this is Maad 101. This is just going to be a video on our new, um, some of our new features that Mac heads 101 is going to be coming out with.

We are on our website going to have an account system so that you can have a Mac heads 101 account and message other people with Mac heads 101 accounts and store files on your Mac heads 101 account. So right now it's just a beta. Um, we should be coming out with the better pretty much everything soon.

But right now on our website, you can just click sign up now to get started and make a username. I'm going to make one called Alex, and I'm going to make my password "password" and confirm my password. Now, I click "I accept," create my account, and so this is my main account page.

So right here, under messages, any messages I have will be here, and here I can type a file name and click new or open. So I'll just demonstrate by making a file name called "test," and it is case sensitive. So now I'll click new.

So right here I can just in my document, I can just type, "This is a test document." Now I just click save and exit and click okay. So now right here it says "test delete." So "test delete" basically means test is the file name, and we can just click delete to delete that file test. I don't want to delete it, so you can just click it, and it'll start editing it.

Now I'll just click exit, and you can also click delete to delete the document. So under here is messages. Right now I don't have any messages, but you can click compose mail and write a message to anyone.

I'll write a message to Alex. In the message, I'll just say "yo yo yo," then I'll click send. Now under messages, since I sent myself a message as Alex, it says Alex, but then it says this weird random number inside parentheses. That number is actually the number of seconds since January 1st, 1970, and so that's a way to indicate what time the message was sent without actually telling you directly what time it is.

But if you like to do math, you'll be able to do that. In the real version, it will say the time they sent it in there instead of that number, but for now, we're going to leave that number in there. So, um, now you can just click this message, and this will show you the message.

So I'll just click this message, and it says "yo yo yo." So now I'll click exit, and now I'll click the delete button next to it, and it gets deleted. So that's convenient; that's a way to do it.

Um, you can also click change here; that just lets you change your password, but I'm not going to change my password, so I'll just go back. Okay, so this is like a simple text editor. You can store some school documents on here if you're in school.

Um, under messages, it's great to just be able to message other people with Mac heads 101 accounts. Like if you type in here, "Mac heads 101" is Mac heads 101's username on our website, and then you just type a message, "hi," it'll send a message to Maad's 101, and we'll try to get back to you.
