Beautiful Footage: Hiking to Machu Picchu | National Geographic

[Music] [Music] Tracy wanted to do Machu Picchu, and I wanted to do the mountains. So that enabled us to put the two together to do Salkantay through to Machu Picchu, which without the crowds, yes, as well. I just like physically challenging myself, and as long as I can do it, I'm going to keep doing these types of things. And it's absolutely [Music] fantastic.

Well, go do some pictures with this in the background. That's still smiling, that's good! I am proud because somebody wouldn't do these sorts of holidays unless I push them really hard. I was super nervous about the altitude and about the mileage, particularly today getting over the Salkantay Pass. I knew it would be very challenging. Um, it was super motivating the last few months to get ready for it.

How's it going, Tracy?

It's going fine, loving it! Great contrast yesterday doing the mountains, the pass, coming over the pass, and then you come down into the, you know, the rainforest. Just so good! You get so much in such a short period on the Salkantay Trail, and then today it's just unbelievable up here. Uh, the work that that the Incas have put into this place is just unbelievable. [Music] Unbelievable.
