Hi, I'm Salon, founder of the Khan Academy, and I just wanted to let you know how excited all of us are for what we have in store this coming back to school.

First and foremost, this is going to be a big effort in terms of working with teachers and classrooms. This coming back to school, teachers are going to be able to better assign practice on Khan Academy and get reports on where their students are to give optimal personalized practice.

This practice is going to be aligned with standards across subjects and grades. We're also adding a lot more content. And to be clear, KH Academy is much, much, much more than just videos. We have standards-aligned practice across subjects and grades.

Keep a lookout for well beyond math, biology, chemistry, physics, and especially this coming year, we're adding a lot in history. We're creating many tools for independent learners and folks who are trying to prepare for college and important standardized exams like the SAT.

We're really trying to reach the world. Our mission is a free, world-class education for anyone, anywhere. So we're going to continue our efforts in Spanish, in Portuguese, in Hindi, and launch in other significant geographies.

So there's a lot of work ahead of us, but we're very, very, very excited. I just want to thank all of y'all for being part of the KH Academy community. Many of you have directly supported these efforts, and I hope you too feel proud of all of the reach and impact that we are able to collectively have.

Let’s look at this clock and see if we can tell what time is shown on it. First thing, when we look at a clock, we have two hands, and that’s because time is told in two parts. Time is told in hours; that’s part, and on a clock, the hours are represented…

Patterns in hundreds chart
So what we have in this chart is all the numbers from 1 to 100 organized in a fairly neat way. It’s a somewhat intuitive way to organize it where each row you have 10. So you go from 1 to 10, then 11 to 20, then 21 to 30, all the way to 100. And what we’…
Example naming ionic compound
Let’s get some practice naming ionic compounds. I have a formula for an ionic compound right over here, but how would I say this? If you get inspired, pause the video and try to work it out on your own. Well, we could see that it has some magnesium, and …

Really super rich, why would you buy a pre-owned aircraft? You could say the same thing about somebody who’s not so rich but fairly well-to-do, and they buy a used car. Sometimes you want immediate satisfaction, and if you want immediate satisfaction, you…
