Silverlight on Mac

Hey guys, this is Mac HS, and I'm with a video on how to install and uninstall Microsoft Silverlight from your computer.

First of all, Microsoft Silverlight is an application that Microsoft made that's kind of like Flash, that Microsoft was hoping would take over Flash and make them even more powerful. But that really didn't happen. Some people have asked me, how do you install Silverlight on your Mac?

Um, so it's really easy. In the description of this video, I'll have a link to download or to the download page on Apple's website to download Microsoft Silverlight. Um, it's 8.7 megabytes. I'll just click download, and here's the DMG downloading.

Okay, and it will mount, and there's the setup tool. So continue, continue, continue, agree. Mac and Fash HD and St, and there we go. It is now setting up and installing.

And now, when you go to microsoft.com, it won't bring up a huge, stupid window asking you to download Silverlight. It'll play this video with Silverlight because now your browser supports Silverlight.

So, you will notice that you won't get this experience on microsoft.com if you don't have Silverlight. And so, I'm taking the time to extract their PKG and figure out how it actually works, and I've made a little shell script that will uninstall Silverlight.

So, I'll just open my little shell script. You can download this in the description as well. Okay, and there we go, no more Silverlight.

So, if I restart my browser, but now if I go to microsoft.com, it will just say please download Silverlight up there, and it won't play the video.

So, this is how to install and uninstall Microsoft Silverlight. I will have a link in the description to download both the installation and removal tools.

Um, so anyway, thanks for watching. Maads in1, subscribe and goodbye.
