iceKUBE speakers review

Hey guys, this is mad11, and today I'm going to be reviewing the ice cube speaker by IC Tech. So this cube is um very interesting. What it does is this speaker will not actually play sound. I mean, it plays a little bit, but barely. But what it actually does is it sends the vibrations through the bottom onto whatever surface it's on. The best surface is a hard surface for listening to quality music.

The speaker itself is kind of heavy. I'd say maybe 2 lb or so. It doesn't sound like it's very heavy, but trust me, once you put this in your hand, it is heavy. And there's a reason for that; that is so that way it can stay on the ground and not wobble. It will just stay steady, and it will play the music smoothly.

So the back has an on and off switch and the volume controls, and it comes with a remote control. It has this rubber material to keep it on the ground or whatever surface you put it on. So now I'm GNA plug this into it, turn it on, and I'm gonna plug the sound cable in. To turn it on, like red means it has its power, and then once you turn it on, it'll turn blue.

Right now, I'm going to be playing "Right Here, Right Now" by Fat Boy Slim. For the remote control to be able to work to it, what I've seen is it works best if it's pointing to the front. This uses a standard jack that you can just plug into an iPod or a computer or anything. So if I hit play, you hear it a little bit—not really—because it's not made to play out of the machine itself; it's made to send the waves through the surface it's on.

But if I put it on the surface, you can really begin to hear that sound. So I'm just going to lower the volume a little bit, all right? So you guys can hear me. It has a power switch to turn it on and off, and you can edit the volume, the bass—which is really low sounds—and the treble—which is really high sounds. I've noticed the remote control does not work that well unless it's pointed directly at it, but other than that, it's pretty good.

I'm just going to try to make it a little bit louder. For some reason, left is up, and right is down. As you can tell, it does get pretty loud, and in fact, like the speaker, it did start to move, and I can feel the table start to vibrate. So I'm going to [Music] play; I'm going to put some bass on.

Alright, so that's with a lot of bass, and now I'm going to put on a lot of treble. Let me just lower the volume a little bit. Alright, so now I'm going to put some treble [Music] on, and that is the speaker with treble. I don't think it's the best treble in the world, but bass? It's great! You feel the bass through the table.

As you can see, I would really recommend this for bass. Now, in terms of a surface, it really works best on a wooden surface like this table, but if I were to put it on a cloth surface like this and play it, it really wouldn't sound that great. So if you want to put this on a carpet or something, I really wouldn't recommend it.

So again, here's the difference: this is on a carpeted surface or cloth, and here is wood. So what do I think of these speakers? Well, it's really heavy, which is a pro plus side, 'cause it's still portable; it's completely small, completely portable. So if you travel a lot, and you always have like a nice desk to work at, then yes, they're good speakers.

If you like listening to your music outside in a field on the grass, no, these are not the speakers for you. Also, I would recommend predetermining, like, if you're going to have a party or something, predetermining what kind of music you want—music with bass, music with no bass—and change it to those settings, because the remote control kind of takes a while to actually get it to what you want to do.

But overall, I think these are great speakers. I'm going to use them a lot, and I recommend you check them out. Again, it's the ice cube by IC Tech, and I'll have a link to the speakers right below. Thanks for watching!
