С помощью ускорителя частиц APS исследователи начали снимать рентгеновское видео в высоком разрешении сквозь экзоскелеты пауков. Такого ещё никогда не делали. С помощью рентгена мы видим их глаза насквозь и можем наблюдать, как двигаются трубки с жидкостью. Если при повороте сетчатки меняется форма или длина трубки, меняется и то, что пауки могут воспринимать.

Они иначе воспринимают глубину, по-другому воспринимают цвет. Раньше выяснять это приходилось, нарезая пауков на препараты. Поэтому мы очень рады, что можем получить видео того, что происходит в голове паука в высоком разрешении, прямо пока он что-то активно разглядывает.
