Our Website Was Hacked & Our Plans For It

Hey guys, this is M One with the video of the sort we don't normally make. But, uh, I just wanted to make this video because I feel it's kind of important, and I want you guys to know about it. Also, you know, I have a little explaining to do.

So, as you know, I own the domain macad101.com. Um, and that's fine. Uh, like two years ago, me and my friend coded it, and it wasn't the best. Uh, the design was great; the PHP code for the accounts and all that stuff wasn't that good. It's not that secure; it had a lot of flaws.

Basically, uh, a couple months ago, our site actually got hacked, which probably isn't that difficult to do since there are a lot of, uh, security holes with the whole account system and, um, the way I deal with paths and stuff like that. But basically, the whole thing was hacked a couple months ago, and I thought, well, you know, I'll just fix the problem. I fixed all the pages that they modified and all that stuff, and I thought, well, this is fine.

Um, but a few weeks ago, uh, I noticed that, you know, the site is really dead, and we haven't done much to it. It's really insecure because it was hackable, and, you know, I mean, what are you supposed to do? So I went and recoded the whole thing, pretty much.

Now, if you go to our site, it'll specifically say "macad101.com is down currently, please check back later," and that's because we, uh, I recoded the whole thing. I didn't post it; it's on a different server right now because we're going to switch hosts soon. So, uh, for now, it's the old code on our site, but soon it'll be the new code that I just fixed.

Um, anyway, like today, it was fun yesterday. Today, someone, uh, did the same thing that they probably did a couple months ago to hack our site and changed our homepage. So that's kind of why I, uh, making this video a couple days in advance. I was going to make it when we actually released the new site, but I guess now I have to do it a few days early because it was hacked.

You know, I'm just going to leave the homepage down for a couple of days. I don't think it'll be that much of a problem unless some of you use your account system. Um, but if you do, uh, it's kind of a shame because, um, it's down. But, yeah, so basically, in a couple days, uh, we're going to switch hosters to our site, upload whole new code.

It'll have less security issues. Uh, I'll feel better, uh, encouraging people to use the, um, account system on our site because it'll be more secure and all that stuff. So, uh, anyway, just a brief update, uh, on, you know, why our site is down. It was hacked, uh, numerous times. I fixed all the security issues, uh, pretty much.

Maybe I'll find out if I fixed all of them when I post a new code if it gets hacked again. But, you know, anyway, um, that's just, uh, an explanation. So, um, thanks for watching. Maaz One, subscribe, and goodbye.
