В целом такой вопрос можно отнести и к морским ежам, и ещё ряду существ, относящихся к иглокожим и родственных с морскими звёздами. Учёные, обожающий всё классифицировать и определять, в ряде случаев считали, что какая-то часть тела у них передняя. А некоторые заявляли, что у этих существ нет головы в принципе.

Удобно болеть, нечему. Но недавнее исследование не позволило учёным так вольно обращаться с морскими звёздами. Учёные исследовали экспрессию генов и дифференциацию тканей во время развития звёзд из личинок.

Ряд методов позволил построить как бы структуру морской звезды. В этой структуре по всему телу расположены клетки, которые по генным сигнатурам можно считать.
