North Carolina's Nuclear Incident | The Strange Truth

[Music] Bomb number one was literally a Washington Monument right in the middle of a tobacco field, tail up in the air. The parachute that had deployed was strewn amongst the branches. We found that the weapon was in sufficiently safe condition to transport it back to the base. After it had been lifted up by a crane, it was put on a flatbed truck and rolled back to the base.

The day after, the Air Force said four things: there are two bombs, they were unarmed, they have both been recovered, and there's absolutely no danger. So, out of those four things, they were right about the fact there were two bombs.

As we were digging the hole, as we were getting deeper and deeper into the ground, one of the first things we found was the back of the bomb, which is the parachute pack. We had a huge crane come out there and lift the parachute pack out of the hole.

It seems to me it would be just easy; you just dig this bomb out, right? It might seem that way to you, but it wasn't. I was at the lip of the hole that we had been digging for several days, and one of my sergeants called up to me at the top and he said, "Lieutenant, we found the arm safe switch."

I said, "Great." And he says, "No, not great. It's on arm." When the arm safe switch is on arm, it clearly means that a passage has been made in the electronic circuitry to allow the signals necessary to cause the bomb to blow. To this day, I get goosebumps thinking about that.

Graphing exponential functions | Mathematics III | High School Math | Khan Academy
We’re told to use the interactive graph below to sketch a graph of ( y = -2 \cdot 3^x + 5 ). And so this is clearly an exponential function right over here. Let’s think about the behavior as ( x ) changes. When ( x ) is very negative or when ( x ) is ver…
Introduction to negative numbers
In this video, we’re going to introduce ourselves to the idea of negative numbers. Now, you’re already used to the idea of positive numbers; you just called them numbers, not positive numbers. And just to give you an example, I will draw a number line her…

We have already introduced ourselves to the idea of price discrimination in other videos, and in this video, we’re going to try to classify the different ways that a firm might engage in price discrimination. So first of all, just as a review of what it …
$1 Million to $100 Million in sales as a Real Estate Agent
My personal philosophy is that every listing you have should give you at least one more listing from it and one buyer from it. So hopefully, one listing leads to two more sales, which should lead to two more sales, and it just branches out from there. Wh…
Units of the rate constant | Kinetics | AP Chemistry | Khan Academy
[Voiceover] In this video, we’re going to be talking about how you can find the units for your rate constant k. So the two things you should know before we get started are that, one, rate constant k has units. So this isn’t always true of constants in c…
Michael Burry's Worrying Recession Warning (The White-Collar Crisis Begins)
So we all know the story up to this point. Those cushy buy-anything and double-your-money days are well and truly over. Inflation is high, interest rates are rising, the consumer has less to spend, corporate profits are under pressure, and big corporation…
