Сегодня мы будем говорить о плоских червях планария. Вот эти малыши являются модельным организмом для изучения регенерации. В лабораториях их можно буквально порезать на кусочки, из каждого из которых вырастет новая планария. Всё благодаря разбросанным тут и там стволовым клеткам и ряду сигнальных механизмов.

Но не только лишь все планарии так умеют. Белые, например, вот умеют, но есть виды, для которых регенерация останавливается где-то буквально на ящерочном уровне. Хвост отрастить они ещё способны, но вот голову уже не получится.

Новая работа учёных заявляет следующее: возможности по регенерации зависят от конкретного молекулярного сигнального пути Wnt. Это набор молекул, названный в честь основных белков, составляющих этот путь. Он есть у всех животных и управляет основными клеточными процессами: ростом, делением, дифференциацией. Работает это за счёт трансляции управляющих сигналов в определённой последовательности внутри клетки.
