My Book Unboxing

Hey guys, this is Mack Kids101, and today I'm going to be doing an unboxing video of my new My Book USB external hard drive—one terabyte. So, um, this is going to be replacing my Simple Tech external hard drive. This is 500 gigabytes, and this was actually a birthday present given to me by Alex.

So without further ado, let's start the unboxing. All right, so hold on; let me just cut right there. The one thing I hate about unboxing videos is I'm always scared I'm not gonna actually open the box properly. All right, so pull that. Oh wait, no, I gotta cut the bottom. See, I already messed up, so let's get that nice and easy to cut.

All right, so now we can pull this sleeve out. All right, and here we go; we have the actual hard drive itself, protected with these nice plastic holders or whatever you want to call them, and it is wrapped in plastic. So, I'm going to take the plastic off.

All right, so it is nice and shiny. As you can see, it is much bigger than the old one, but, um, it's also going to be much faster because, as you can see, the whole back and sides are full of fans, and this has no fan. So this gets loud, and this is pretty quiet. And this also has a power button. They both use USB, but this one, um, sometimes it's been a little slow.

Like, sometimes if I just try to see an old Time Machine backup, it takes me like five or six minutes just to load that. So, I'm just going to put this right in the stand. The camera and the box itself actually has another compartment, so let's look at what's in there.

All right, so now the box is empty, and we got a smaller box to look at. Hopefully, this is right side up. Yeah, I think so. All right, so we have an important note to Windows users. As we know, I don't really need to worry about that, but I'm just gonna hold on to that because I just don't throw papers out, even though I might not use them.

Here we have just a simple instruction thingy—pictures, I guess—like how to use an external hard drive, but I pretty much know how to use that. And here we have tech support and lifetime guarantee and information about it. Wow, this opens up to be very big.

All right, of course, as I said in the beginning of the video, it is a USB powered external hard drive. So we've got our USB port, and that just plugs into the back right over there, and then this side goes into your computer. And for some reason, there's a power adapter, so I'm just going to plug that to a wall, and then we'll see what happens.

And as you can see, it's going to start to light up, and on my desktop, oh yeah, I now see a CD that tells me information about it. Well, it's not actually the CD, but it's as if I had a CD in it, and I have the one terabyte external hard drive thing.

So right now, um, that's pretty much it for the unboxing video. I will be making a review video on it later, but as you can see, it just opened the box. So, I don't know how good this external hard drive is, but you can sure be expecting your review video on this nice external hard drive later.

So, as you can see, this is five—this is one terabyte to compare with Simple Tech's 500 gigabytes.

So that's about it; thank you for watching Mackins101. Subscribe and goodbye!
