Axe Ghost Daily 2024-08-12
Hey, my name's Thomas. I am playing Ax Ghost; this is a game I'm working on. You can find a demo of Ax Ghost on Steam. Uh, I'm playing the beta version, and I'll be playing the daily challenge for today. I have the mirror and the centi Beed special weapon today.
[Applause]
I don't like these three separate groups of devils here. I have a switch drift. Uh, what best to do this? So, the sent Beed creates a row of enemies of the same type or it tries to; it keeps going until it is blocked by something else. This is a good one; it joins those three groups up.
What else? I'll move these down as well. Rather not destroy them yet; I had one there. I'd like to join these together, really. I'll freeze them, let those catch them up. Uh, group these up as well. Now, it would be good to change all of these to skulls to join them to these little groups here. I think I can best do it this way, and then what I think I should do it this way.
Yeah, that's okay. Um, I'm going to destroy them this turn, I think. I think I need to, but first I'll try and join these on like [Music]. So, I'm not going to talk too much this time; try and keep the [Applause] speed, keep it going a bit fast, faster than last time.
[Music]
So, I have a coin here. Uh, that means if I cause another route while I have the coin, uh, I'll get the first quest, which will give me a chance to get a score multiplier.
[Music]
That's not beautiful.
[Music]
[Music]
[Music]
Gamar is coming; that's good. H, that's not great either. That's a really big group of skulls up there that I'd rather not all switch.
[Laughter]
Okay.
[Music]
So, it says I beat Odin, but Odin is, uh, the B. He's the, uh, he has the number one place before any human players have gotten a high score for the day.
[Music]
M, yeah.
[Music]
Think this might trigger the first quest; we'll see.
Yeah, the quest for the thimble. So, when you get a quest, a quest requires you to play particular weapons from each hand. The quest for the thimble requires you to play one particular weapon from each hand, and if you manage to do that for three hands in a row, it unlocks a score multiplier for the remainder of the run.
[Applause]
So, I managed the first hand there. Now it wants me to play this one, which is not great. It's maybe not what I would have preferred to play. I have an axe coming up in the next hand too, so I don't need to worry yet about getting stuck.
Don't like all this though.
[Music]
Maybe, yeah, okay.
[Music]
Oh, I don't have an axe coming up in the next turn, so I need to be a bit careful. And if I want to keep the quest going, I can't use the A here. So, if you fail to play a hand, if you fail to use one of the, uh, weapons that it tells you to use, then the quest fails and you have to start it again later if you manage—if you get another chance.
Um, well, what if I swap these like this and then push all the reds upwards? Can I? Yeah, maybe I can. I still have the coin, and I would like to get the quest; would like to complete it. Oops, managed to get the thimble, but this isn't looking great.
Now, the next quest automatically starts, and this is the quest for the Raven. This needs me to play two weapons, two particular weapons each time. Also, Gamar has arrived.
Okay, this one and that one. Um, that's not great. I don't think I can do that—not unless I want to use this one, which I don't really want to, don't want to do that at the moment.
Okay, so what I'll do is I'll push these back, and then you know what? I think I have to use this.
Okay, use the coin so that I can push these back or destroy them. Uh, I push. That's not so great.
Okay, I'm going to do this, and then I'll fail the quest. That's okay; I have a switch coming up. No axes. I do have one poke vertical, so I can push this column up and postpone it a little bit, hoping that I get an X next time.
You know what? I'm going to get rid of these skulls here for now, and I'll group these up like that.
Okay, these guys are now a problem, but I can switch them all for ogres, which makes it a lot more manageable.
[Music]
That way I can push this R anyway, this column, and I'll just took those in.
[Music]
There, okay, Gamar is almost surrounded. I could surround him if I don't use the axe, but if I don't use the axe—'cause I don't know if I can deal with this.
Oh, yeah, maybe I can. I don't get an axe next turn; it's not good. What if I— I would swap him? No, that doesn't help either.
Okay, you know what? I'm just going to get the whole group, I think. Can I make it any bigger? Not really.
That works, yeah, that makes it slightly bigger.
[Music]
Got Co, that's good.
Okay, he's almost surrounded now. There's a robot there; that's not great.
I could just start pushing this column upwards in the hope that I could then surround him with skulls. You know what? Maybe I should push this. I should push these two guys up, both of them, like so—your dear—and then I can later push this one up.
Uh, what else? So, how if I do this? I think I've got another axe coming up next turn, so I can foro this one in order to punch these up a bit better.
I'll freeze these guys so this ogre joins them next turn.
Oh, okay, the robot's going to destroy this column at the end of this turn, so I need to make sure that I'm not left stunned here. That should be okay; first hit on Gamar, and then I can immediately push this guy up.
And what should I do with the skull? I no, don't really want to break off that HRE there; instead, I'll just move these reds over.
Oh, of course, he's going to destroy this. I've missed that; never mind. Need to watch out for him.
Um, okay, let me make that my priority for now. That's kind of okay.
Bues those up, and then I can move this guy across in the next turn. Though that's not so great because it means I have to use the axe to destroy these ones.
Well, maybe I'll just do [Music] it, okay? Destroy those; I'll push him upwards, and perhaps I'll fill the bottom row with RADS so I can then freeze them with this ice that's coming up next turn.
All right, oh, it doesn't quite fill it, of course.
Okay, then I'll just do—yeah, then I'll do these. He's going to blast through those; that's a nuisance—unless I can move him? I don't think I can move him. Can I?
I think if I switch in like that, then he'll not be firing, and that works out okay. Let me try that.
Yeah, it cancels the firing movement; that's good. Then I can freeze these guys, join these up.
[Music]
Here, that's not great. I can hit him again, maybe. Before I do that, perhaps I should see if I should change these.
Yeah, that's quite good; you can't win.
And what else? I can hit him now.
All right, and what do I want to do? Kind of like to push those all up, but I don't want to break these robots apart either. I'll just push him up for now.
That's kind of handy 'cause it means that these ogres are not going to escape off the bottom 'cause they'll get destroyed by him first.
I'll push Gamar up, I think. I shouldn't push this to the right 'cause then the robot will miss these guys, but if I push these to the left that one's going to wrap around to there, and then I still have this one which I can use to push up into him.
I don't have a great hand coming up here.
All right, you know what? Instead, I'll move the skull out of the way, I think.
And then what? Actually join these up?
Yeah. Oh no, that leaves me here, which I don't want. That'll kill me, so I have to use the coin. I didn't see that coming.
All right, if I push him upwards and he's surrounded on three sides, let me try that.
And if I push him up and then do this, but I don't have any.
All right, I'll try it. I don't have an axe coming up, but I have two turns.
[Music]
Hopefully—and there is an axe there; there's a switch.
So, if I—what shall I do? Make this group a bit bigger so I can make these into ogres so I can push these robots back after these all been destroyed; that's probably good.
[Music]
And then what? I'll just push him up for now, push these guys' eyes across.
Okay, I should not end up there, but that should be all right.
Let me see.
I'll, yeah, I have enough to destroy those; then I need to push those and the others back—that's fine.
Okay, uh, let's try this.
Give it—oh, I don't like this.
Okay, how do I fix this? Can I even fix it? I can with the axe, of course.
Maybe that's what I have to do. I'd rather not—alternative is I hit that one, then push these ones upwards to pop it a little bit.
And then that's maybe not bad, except I have no axes coming up, so the next turn that's going to cause a problem here.
H, okay, I have to get these now, and well, you know, maybe I need to push Gamar up to there so that he's not going to escape on the next turn. Let's try it.
Oops, there we go. And then push these [Music] up.
Okay, he's going to split those off; that's maybe not so bad for me.
How do I deal with this? Can I even deal with it?
Okay, yeah, I can push those to the right and then push—no, that's also not going to work.
Okay, what if I swap them all like that? Does that help? Don't think it does.
You know, let me try it like this and like this.
Oh, but then I can't push those up; that doesn't help either.
Oh, I think this is it.
All right, I'm going to try and arrange them for the skull axe.
Then how can I make this a bigger group? Well, maybe by switching these over?
No, yeah, yeah, I think that helps a little. That's not bad: 1,81.
Okay, and that was [Music] it 5,890.
Okay, that was Ax Ghost; that was my daily run. You can find Ax Ghost on Steam. There is a demo there, and I'll see you next time.
