Это камни на дне Балтийского моря на глубине 20 м близ берегов Германии. Когда-то эту зону исследовали эхолота, и ровная полоса из камней протяжённостью в километр вызвала удивление.

После более тщательных исследований оказалось, что примерно 10.000 лет назад из-за этих камней была сложена стена высотой несколько менее метра. В её составе было 15.00 камней разного размера. Подобные стены, а точнее их остатки, находили и ранее.

Конкретно эта стена когда-то шла вдоль берега озера, но затем она оказалась затоплена водой через 1500 лет после её постройки. А зачем же древним людям нужна была такая километровая метровая стена?

Один из наиболее вероятных ответов — чтобы охотиться. В тех местах проходили пути миграции оленей. Подобная стена должна восприниматься оленями в качестве естественной преграды, вроде кромки воды, поэтому они не пытаются её перепрыгнуть, хотя легко могли бы.
