Review: Richard Solo Batteries

Hey guys, this is my Kids 101, and today I'm going to be reviewing a couple of products sent to me by Richard Solo.

So Richard Solo is a company that makes backup batteries for the iPhone case. Your iPhone runs out of battery, which, if you know, happens quite often.

The first product I'm going to be reviewing is the Richard Solo 1200. Okay, so the Richard Solo 1200—oh, by the way, all the reason why all these boxes are open is because I already tested them all out so I could make the review.

So the Richard Solo 1200 is a backup battery for the iPhone. It also has a light built in. So, um, this is what it looks like right over here. It has this thing to protect it that comes with it, and you can just plug it into your iPhone and it'll instantly start charging.

So as you can see, it thinks it's a charger, but the battery is just like a regular battery. So what happens if this runs out of battery? Well, you have to charge that too. So it comes with a charger and a cable.

As you can see, it's one of those extending cables, so it extends at both sides. Then there's a wall charger right over here, and the wall charger just plugs into there. Then you plug one side into the—it's, by the way, USB, so you can charge it with your computer too.

So you just plug that into there, and then you plug the other side into your battery. And by the way, it does charge not only the battery but your iPhone too. So when you plug in the charger into the Richard Solo battery, it's going to charge your battery.

Now it's going to charge the Richard Solo battery and your iPhone too. Just plug it into there, and they're both charging now. As you can see, this is still charging, and there's a very bright light too, just right over there. And that's what the light looks like.

So that's the Richard Solo 1200. I'm just going to put that aside. By the way, it does have a nice aluminum case, and so it's nearly scratch-proof.

The next thing I'm going to be reviewing is the Richard Solo 1800. So this is another external battery for the iPhone. Again, this is open because I have opened it ahead in advance to test it out before I review it, and I can say that all these products work superb.

So here is the actual battery. Now this battery is different because it doesn't plug straight into your iPhone. So this battery uses a cable to plug into your iPhone. You have a cable that plugs into your iPhone right over here, and then you can plug that into the battery.

So I'll just plug that into there. Again, it instantly starts charging. Now this battery also has a light, so I'll just show you what the light looks like. And it also has a laser light or a red laser, whatever you would like to call it.

Okay, so it has that. And also to charge this, this comes with a bit more. So it comes with another cable on the other side also USB, and it's also an extending cable so you just plug that right into the other side.

Now, what you plug this USB thing, you have three options. You can either plug it into any computer—pretty much any computer has a USB thing these days—or it actually comes with two wires, so you know, two things to charge it with.

It comes into a wall outlet, so I can just stick that in there and plug it into the wall. Sorry about that—plug it into the wall. And as you can see, this is still charging, and it's charging the battery as well as the phone.

So, um, this is a two-way charging. It also comes with a thing to charge it in the car—a car charger—and this has two USB ports. So you can charge any USB device in your car.

It also comes with one more thing, which I think is really nice on the part of Richard Solo. It comes with this really, really nice custom case for the iPhone. So now I'm just gonna—by the way, it works really, really well—so I'm just gonna be putting it on so you can see what it looks like.

It has two parts to it, the top and the bottom. It works on the iPhone 3G, and since the new iPhone is in the same shape, it has the same structure as the iPhone 3G. It'll work with that too.

And there's a spot—there's a hole—so you can hook both Richard Solo batteries on it while it's put on. I'm just gonna take this off to put the battery on, to put the charger on. Just slides right on—looks fantastic.

And once again, you can use both this charger; it charges instantly—or the other charger with it—so you can just plug this right into.

So in the description of the video, I'll be providing a link to Richard Solo's website and, um, a link to all of these products. By the way, Richard Solo did extend the warranty of all these products to one year.

It used to be like three months or nine months, but now it's a full year guaranteed warranty. And the Richard Solo 1800 also comes with the—this, like I said—the case.

So thank you for watching Kids 101. Make sure you check out Richard Solo's products, and once again, they're great products. Goodbye!
