Стивен Цукер - значительная фигура из фундаментальной науки и в популяризации исследований. Он был автором теории о черных дырах, что они теряют энергию, испуская излучение. Излучение в знак научных заслуг профессора Хокинга получило его имя.

В 33 года его приняли в Лондонское королевское общество - так называется академия наук. Жизнь профессора послужила основой сюжета фильма "Вселенная Стивена Хокинга". За роль в этой ленте актер, воплотивший на экране, получил премию "Оскар".

Знаменитый физик, сказавший однажды: "Что осталось бы от Вселенной, если бы она не была населена теми, кого мы любим", скончался в возрасте 76 лет. Как сказали его дети, научное изыскание Стивена Хокинга переживут век.
