Growing Sweet Potatoes | Live Free or Die: How to Homestead

[Music] This is how you grow sweet potatoes. This is the first step: get the sweet potatoes.

Okay, the next step is to get some potting soil. So, I'm going to bury them down in there, and then they go into a hot spot.

Then they'll spring into action and start making what is called slips. We're going to come back and pull the slips off of them in a few [Music] weeks. These ones look ready!

These are little slips. So, a slip is a tiny piece of sweet potato vine that will turn into a whole new sweet potato plant.

All righty, this is what we're going to grow the sweet potatoes in: in a box of wood chips. Let's get this little freak down in there.

Let's give it some water here. It's very important that you give them a lot of water for like the first month. Put a little jar over it; that's continuing that greenhouse effect, 'cause you want to keep it hot.

Then, come the fall, you just knock the box over if it's not already rotten by that point, and then you pick up the sweet potatoes. You don't have to dig! It's pretty cool.

Graphing exponential growth & decay | Mathematics I | High School Math | Khan Academy
This is from the graph basic exponential functions on KH Academy, and they ask us to graph the following exponential function. They give us the function ( H(x) = 27 \cdot \left(\frac{1}{3}\right)^x ). So our initial value is 27, and ( \frac{1}{3} ) is our…
Geometric constructions: congruent angles | Congruence | High school geometry | Khan Academy
What we’re going to do in this video is learn to construct congruent angles. And we’re going to do it with, of course, a pen or a pencil. Here, I’m going to use a ruler as a straight edge, and then I’m going to use a tool known as a compass, which looks a…
Will This Go Faster Than Light?
The speed of light is meant to be the ultimate speed limit in the universe. According to Einstein’s special theory of relativity, nothing should move through space faster than light. But that doesn’t stop people from trying. Every day I get a lot of mess…
