По прогнозам, сейсмолог с семидесяти процентной вероятностью в следующие 30 лет стоит ждать землетрясения магнитудой 8 где-то около района Такай, где живут больше 15 млн человек, в районе Нанкайского восточного побережья Японии.

Где проходит граница евразийской и филиппинской плит, примерно раз в 100 лет происходит сильнейшее землетрясение, но в районе Такай и подобного не случалось больше лет.

Власти считают, что погибнуть могут более тысячи человек, большинство из-за тридцати тровоцунами, а четверть, около 82000 человек, вполне возможно под обломками зданий.

Вот почему так важно готовиться к землетрясениям.
