Macheads101 Instant News

Hey guys, this is Mids. Um, and today is going to be a video on our new instant news section on MaidsOne.com. On MaidsOne.com, um, there will be a new tab on the left called Instant News. Um, I will remind you that you have to refresh the page before that'll appear there.

Um, but once you click that, um, it'll bring up this news page that's very different from the regular news page because the regular news page has a list of articles, and you have to click on one of them in order to go to that, um, article. For instance, this one you have to click on it, but then this is a very large article, and um, it took me a while to type up and get the information and stuff.

But say, and I was kind of um, annoyed about this. Say something big comes out, like Snow Leopard comes out, and Mackins Andolan just wants a way to post an article right away that everyone who knows where to look could find the article and read through the article. Our solution to this was, um, an instant news page.

Now, to post on this, we're the only people who can post on this without um, getting our, um, either one of our permissions. But um, basically instantly, like as soon as we find out about Snow Leopard coming out, like maybe we're in the car and we find out about it, we can go on our iPhone and post Les here through our own thing.

Because with our current news page, um, all you have to do is go in and edit a few files and create a file in order to create a new news article, and that's just not really cool. So what we did with this is all the news is on one page. It's just the name of an article, who it's by, the article, then the next article, etc.

This page can have up to seven articles. Right now it only has two because I just created it. Um, so this page will be here like all the time if you ever want to check, see anything important come up in the world. Basically, all the news that happens here normally, if it's really big, will also end up in the RSS feed about 20 minutes later. If I'm at home, if I'm in the car, it might stay up here only up here for a while. But this is where our main news stream will be because I can update it from anywhere.

So um, if you ever think something big came out like Snow Leopard, and you want to find out more about it, and maybe you're on your cell phone, go to our instant news page and check it out. And um, another cool thing about this is that it's full HTML, and let me just show you real quickly how easy it is for us to, um, to post stuff up here.

Okay, so I will point out that, um, you as a user of Mackins Andolan cannot post an article. See, it says um, you must be logged in as a Mackin On. And so I'm going to log in as Maads and No One um, in order to post this article. So now I'll go back to that page.

Okay, so here we go. So this is how easy it is to post. We just have to log in, go to this page, we type the name of the article. I'm just going to call it, um, um, new video. I'll say it's by Maad101. Article, we have a new video on this page. You know, I'm just going to call it test article. Mackins No One, this is a test article.

Okay, so now I click Post Article, and right here it says Test Article by Mack One. This is a test article. So that's how easy it is for us to, um, post an article up here. Now, if you want to post an article up here just for instant news, email us at kids@wantme.com.

Since we have Push, we will get the email as soon as you send it, so it'll still be up here practically instantly if it's appropriate and if we, um, are ready. Since we've copy and pasted on our iPhones, we should be able to um, manage and get it up there.
