RFS: AI to build enterprise software

less than 1m read
·Nov 3, 2024

Enterprise software has a reputation among smart programmers as being very boring to work on because you have to go out and do lots of sales. Every enterprise customer wants something that's slightly different. What if AI could completely change how enterprise software gets built and sold though? Instead, give every customer the same starter piece of software, and you write an AI that can customize it for them.

If that actually worked and every company could have their own customized applicant tracking system or HR software, this would be hugely disruptive to every existing enterprise software company because they don't know how to build software this way. What enterprise software companies are good at is building big sales teams that go out and promise everything to everyone, and then get their engineers to build it.

If you find the idea of building AI that rides software interesting and you want to do it in the most lucrative field possible, enterprise software, then please apply to YC. We'd love to hear from you.
