Hey guys, this is Matt Kids, and I'm on with the video on the Apple TV rumored to be coming out. I don't know exactly when, but in previous rumors, it's been said that the next Apple TV would be an iOS running device that would have apps maybe and be a full 1080p high-res everything. It would only be like $100-200, and it would be quite cheap.

If you ask me, that sounds very impressive, very cool. I'd get that probably instead of a Mac Mini, which is, you know, $600, which can do pretty much all that right now anyway. But, you know, the latest report about the rumors in the Apple TV suggests that it won't be able to do 1080p or 1080i and only 720p. You might be wondering, well, why is this?

It's rumored that the A4 processor simply can't handle 1080p, which makes no sense because, you know, the iPhone can do 1080 video, and it can play them back fine. I've even tried this; it works with these huge videos, and it's really quite amazing. Of course, it scales them down, so that may be part of it.

The Apple TV will still most likely be available to get apps from the App Store, and you might be able to write your own apps for it, and so that'll be cool. I might make an Apple TV app if it is available to me. The big thing is that it's not going to be called Apple TV anymore; they may rename it to ITV, just like they renamed iPhone OS to iOS.

I think they're getting sort of carried away with the "i" names. Just personally, I think they sort of need to take a break with that, but, you know, whatever. That's Apple. This is just a brief little update on the new Apple TV.

Another thing, I'm going to show you real quick—you might be wondering how I got this news so fast. The answer to that is I use macrumors.com. You might be thinking, well, RSS; it’s pretty fast to get rumors from macrumors.com. The second a MacRumors article comes out, I know because I wrote an app that specifically lets me read MacRumors and alerts me whenever there's a new article.

It's really nice; it runs up in your menu bar at the top. There's a little Apple thing you can say show rumors or where you can quit it. When you show the rumors, it shows you a list of the rumors you can just read like this, and I'll show you my screen. You can just go through and scroll through the content and everything, and oh, yep, there's the Apple TV thing right there.

So, that's the MacRumors app I made. There's, like I said, a little thing in the top bar of my screen. You can't see it because this is my secondary display, but I think it's pretty cool. In the description of this video, I'm going to have a link to download this MacRumors app that I made and I'm using.

I don't know if it's illegal to do this or something because MacRumors, you know, I won't be seeing their ads if I do this. So, if they have a complaint, they can just message me, and I'll take it down or something. But, for now, I'm letting you guys try out this pretty cool app I made, the MacRumors app.

It just brings up a little window whenever a new MacRumors thing comes up. It says "new MacRumors article," and you can click "show me your clothes." I think it's pretty useful. So, tell me what you think about the app, and comment with your opinions on the Apple TV.

I was sort of disappointed by the first Apple TV, but I think it could end up being a great thing if it's cheap. I mean, if it did 1080p, that would be good, but you know, 720p is, I guess, alright if you're sitting a couple feet away from your screen or computer or whatever.

So, anyway, thanks for watching MackinZona1. Subscribe and bye!
