Hey guys, this is Mac Kids 101, and today I'm going to be showing you a whole new way of watching YouTube videos that's actually interactive and fun to use.

So, um first off, I'm gonna open up Safari and I'm gonna go to YouTube, and I'm gonna go to our channel so we don't have to worry about any copyright issues.

Okay, so you guys are probably used to either watching a YouTube video by going to someone's channel and watching a video, or you can, or you watch the more from there, or you click on related videos. But what happens is basically you search for your video and you can or you click on a link.

Okay, so I'm going to be showing you a whole new way. Um, and I'm not talking about YouTube X. Um, Excel Alex already made a video about this. Um, this is also a pretty cool way. Up, as you can see, videos recommended, top rated, most viewed, and you can go to your channel. Um, this is completely different. Um, and it looks kind of like this, all you're about to see.

But before I show it to you, I'm going to explain to you kind of how URLs for YouTube work, so you understand how this works better. Okay, so I'm gonna go back to the original YouTube.

Okay, so now I'm going to go to one of our videos. Uh, how about this one? Okay, by the way, I am using QuickTime X to record my screen, and so the advantage is I don't have to export it; it exports while I'm making it. But the disadvantage is I can't do, um, I can't really do any editing unless I, um, open it in another application. So I want you guys to tell me, um, how this video turns out.

Okay, so um, this is the video, but that's not what I'm going to show you. What I'm going to show you is the URL. So, of course, there's HTTP code, um, slash youtube.com, and all that you don't have to worry about. Then there's slash, um, because it's not going to be on the home page.

Watch question mark, question mark is this PHP thing, and watch is the protocol that says, like, I want to watch this. And then V means video, and then here, right here, is basically all the information that tells you where, what video you want to watch. So basically, this says this on YouTube, this says you want to watch a video.

Okay, and then it says equals to say which one, and then this says you want to watch it. And then feature channel page, all that does is say it puts this thing that says more for Mac Heads 101. So I'm just gonna delete that, so you don't have to worry about it. But you don't have to delete this to do what I'm going to show you.

So if I delete this, see that? Okay, okay, that's all it does. Okay, so um, right now it says and watch, so we're in the watch mode, but I'm going to show you what's actually called The Warp mode.

So we're gonna, um, change that to um, slash Warp Dot swf. And if you don't know what an swf file is, um, that's a Flash file. And like, if you right click on something on the Internet that's moving, it's probably gonna say about Adobe Flash Player. And then probably nine or ten that means that it's using Flash Player, so this is all made in Flash.

So right now, um, I have I'm at that same video but in this cool interface. So I can scroll up and scroll down and stuff. So, but basically right here is the video. Now, how do I watch it? I just hold my mouse over it, and um, as you can see, nothing's happening.

And I'm gonna, like, and if I put my mouse over one of these, stuff starts tapping. Basically, if you hold your mouse over a certain video around it, it's gonna put the videos that are related to it, so that way you can um, just um, easily find videos that you like.

So I'm gonna go back to the original video, and if you want to watch it, you just click play. Hey guys, leave the page; it's all in Flash on this page. And if you want to actually click watch it on the actual YouTube, um, on the actual YouTube page for that video, you can just click, and it'll bring you the YouTube page.

But I much prefer—by the way, this is just for watching YouTube videos. There's still the full screen feature, everything that you need, but this is just for watching. You can't really rate videos or anything, but you can still go...

Let's say I want to watch um, I'm going to try to stay within our videos so I don't have to...
