Catch of the Week - Something to Prove | Wicked Tuna

2m read
·Nov 11, 2024

Airing it under control, the best time forward. Bump, bump, quick, good, neutral, great!

Now it's a tuna. Having this fish hooked up amongst the fleet is great. If we can land this fish, it would be the first one landed. It could be a good shot in the arm financially.

She’s just tight, too! You know, I’d just turned, yes. I hopefully can get out of this intact because the Hawaiians get twisted. One person or the others probably lose a fish or both, so it's a very dangerous, very stressful situation.

"Let’s go, Brandon! You’re good, Brandon! Keep it up, nice and smooth. Nice and smooth!"

Pete, the pitch is running hard.

"Yeah, it’s going to TJ the wrong way. My fish is kind of directly towards these bulls. They’re fighting at this as well, so we’re trying to move our fish out of the way so their lines don’t cross. This down, thank good. Thank good!"

"All right, clear! Good job, Brandon! I got the fish paddling on the surface right now."

"Okay, bottom, but it’s a great feeling. We’re stoked! We’re coming in with the first fish of the season. We caught it in front of the other guys in the fleet. We’re just elated to be in this position right now."

"Be done, Jamaica out today? Yeah, we got one for you! First pitch of the season!"

"All right, where do you got down?"

"367."

"All right, what can you do it for me on this? Come on, give me $17."

"All right, we appreciate it! Make a lot of money, catch a lot of fish, and this is the first one. This is priming the pump!"
