Untethered Jailbreak 6.x

·Nov 3, 2024

This is Matt Kids on One, and today I'm going to be making a video I've been dying to make for a couple months now. It is how to jailbreak your iDevice running 6.0 through 6.1. This is an untethered jailbreak, and it works for all devices running 6.0 through 6.1, except for the third generation Apple TV.

Now, I'd also like to thank evaders, the hacking team, for coming out with this jailbreak. You can download the jailbreak tool from their website, evasion.com. I'll have a link to it in the description to this video, so go ahead and download that for Linux, Mac, or Windows, or whatever platform you're using. I have it right here, so I do not need this.

Second step: plug in your phone and make sure all of your mixture iTunes is closed. iPhoto, basically as a rule of thumb, if Apple makes the software and it connects to your phone, don't have it open while jailbreaking. Also, make sure if you have a passcode to disable it during the jailbreak process.

I'm going to show you my phone the entire time. So, the first thing you want to do is open up the evasion package right here. Open up the evasion app and go ahead and think “open.” It says “connect your phone,” so my phone is connected, and then it says “just click to jailbreak." It's very simple, so I'm going to jailbreak right now.

To achieve information, basically, it's going to update you the entire time and what to do right here. So, this is a very, very simple jailbreak. The only thing it will require you to do at some point is unlock your phone and open an app that says "Jailbreak," which will crash instantly. I'm telling you that in advance, that way you won't panic when that does happen.

So, I'm just going to hold this. Basically, don't touch your device the entire time. All right, like I said earlier, at this point you're going to need to unlock your device, find an app entitled “Jailbreak.” I have it right here; it has the evaders icon. You’re going to open it. I'm telling you in advance, it's going to crash—don’t panic when that happens, and that is the only time you should touch your device this entire process.

So, I open the app; it crashes right away. That is completely normal. Now, you just wait until basically it'll tell you when you're done. So, don’t wait until the jailbreak evasion program tells you that you are done, which is now. So go ahead and hit “exit” on your phone. Your phone will need to reboot; that is normal. So go ahead, let it reboot, and then once it reboots, you can go ahead and open up Cydia. I'm just going to show you that, all right, and then I'll end the video.

All right, so I can go ahead and unlock my phone, and right over here, we do have Cydia. I can open that up. Cydia needs to prepare the filesystem the first time, and it's probably going to be slow if you use it today. But that's pretty much it. I hope this video was helpful to you. Once again, I'd like to thank the evaders hacking team for releasing this jailbreak.

That’s it! Thanks for watching Matt Kids 101. Subscribe and goodbye!
