Company / iPhone App: Locare

Hey guys, this is my Kids 101.

You might have noticed that we haven't been making that many videos lately. That's because we've been working really hard on something very special that I'd like to talk to you about today. So, me, Alex, and a third person, his name is Tavia— you might have seen him as a special guest in some of our videos— have been working on a company to make App Store apps for the iPhone.

We're finally up and running with our first app for the iPhone. This app is called Lokar, and we're already well in progress for a few other apps that you'll see on the App Store very soon.

So, today I'm going to be telling you about Lokar, and then I'm going to be telling you about our company called Jit Singh.

As you can see, here is Lokar on my iPhone simulator. The icon I designed. So yeah, if you have any ideas, just contact me. I'm just going to open it up, and then this loading screen was made by Tavia.

Okay, so you can see "how to play," and it'll give you the instructions. I'll also tell you how to play; you can see your high scores, and you can see "about."

Okay, so first off, you click "easy." You can click "start game" or "done" to cancel. I'm going to click "start game."

So, when you click "start game," there are three cups and one ball. You just need to follow the cup with the ball in it. So, I'm just gonna do it easy— it's pretty easy.

As you can see, the ball went right over there. Hopefully, my frames per second will be good enough for you to see. So I can click "OK," and I can click "done" to submit it to my high score, or I can click "start game." Right now, I have two points.

So, if you click "easy," you're going to get two points every time you win a game. Then it's going to be more if I play again and win; I'll get four. If I lose, then I can submit four into my high score.

So if I click "two," I can enter my name, John. Enter. I can click "done," and now if I go to my high score over there, "two" is John.

Now, if you're in "medium" and click "start game" and you follow it, as you can see, it's six points every time you win. If you lose, you will go to the high score with your six points.

Now, on the "hard," it gives you nine points every time you win. Hopefully, my frames per second is good enough for you to see. So there we go, I got nine points. I can either play again to make my high score go even higher, or I can just submit my high score.

So this is Lokar, and it's 99 cents on the App Store. Now I'll be just showing you how it works on my iPhone. So here we go.

Okay, so here's Lokar running on my iPhone. I'm just gonna click an easy game; I'll click "start," and right over there, I want— okay, so now I'm gonna demonstrate a medium game. Start game. There we go.

On the iPhone, we made "hard" a lot harder because people were complaining. They said it was too easy. So "hard" is actually very challenging, but I'll just demonstrate what it looks like for now. We'll probably make it a little bit easier.

And there we go— okay, so this is Lokar on my iPhone. Yeah, okay, so it is a little bit harder on the one that's actually on the iPhone because the one I was showing you on my computer is an earlier version, and people said it was a little too easy. So we made it a little bit harder.

Okay, so Jit Singh, what you'll be seeing is a lot more applications from us on the App Store. This one's first; this app is called Lokar, and we plan to have at least 10 applications by the summer. We're already working and well in progress on about five applications, so we think this is a reasonable goal.

So look up Lokar in the App Store for 99 cents. Again, so far, me, John Lobe, Alex Nickel, and Tavia Botwinnik are in this.

So if you have any questions about Jit Singh or about Lokar or anything else I mentioned, just write a comment or contact me, and I'll be sure to reply.

Thank you for watching!
