Underwater Snow Mobile | The Boonies
Any luck over there?
Nope, no snowmobile yet. Maybe a rock and a log, 18 miles from the mainland, far outside the grid.
Dan Burton is attempting to salvage a sunken snowmobile from the bottom of Lake Michigan.
"I'm sure it's here! I don't see anybody beat me to it! There are too many people who die!"
Selva just thing to lift its 400-pound frame. He's recruited Mike Weed, a barge operator and master diver who's lived on the island for 13 years.
"What was that right there?"
"We're over here!"
"Yeah, right here! Look at that!"
"Oh, I see blue! Yeah, that's it! That's it! Yeah, come on!"
"Anchors Aweigh! I'm gonna get my son home. It'd be nice to skin dive this one, but as cold as the water is..."
"Yeah, I'll look down and check it out, give it a little tug and see what the situation looks like."
"Looks like," she said, "pretty good on the bottom! It's intact!"
"Looks at that! Okay, she felt heavy. That's fine!"
"We got left bags in order to extract a snowmobile from the lake bottom. Dan and Mike will utilize two lift barrels, filling each with compressed air. Their first step is tying off a thousand-pound test line to either end of the machine."
"Well, it looks pretty good! Yeah, you see what I wanted to go get it? Yeah, what? Sink both those lift barrels?"
"Okay, one at each end. Okay, we'll take a tank down until each one."
"How we graze it nice and gently? We got to be careful when I'm coming up, we don't want to get underneath it! Don't do anything hooked on it!"
"Okay, all right, let's lift this baby up, man!"
