Control Screen With Nokia N810
Matt Kidsono here. Today, this is a video on how to control your computer from your Nokia N810, Wimax, or regular.
First of all, you need to have something called VNC Viewer installed. So, you go into Settings, Application Manager, and then go into Browse Installable Applications. Um, and then go to All and then find VNC Viewer. This will be in alphabetical order. Once you've installed VNC Viewer, you need to set everything up on your Mac.
So, I'll just close this window and get things started on the Mac. So, first of all, you want to go into System Preferences. Under Sharing, click the lock and type your password. Then check off Remote Management. Then go into Computer Settings and then check "VNC viewers may control the screen with password." Then type the password.
Now, this doesn't have to be the password for your computer; this is the VNC password. So, I click OK, then I type my computer password. Okay, so now you can read right here it says your IP address. You can, um, then you're gonna have to use this and the VNC password on your Nokia N810.
So, I've gotten VNC Server installed, and I installed it to Extras. So, I'll open it up. You can see Viewer, and here we go. Then you type your computer's IP in. I've already typed it in; mine happens to be 192.168.1.101. By the way, you have to be on the same network as your computer on your Nokia N810.
Then, you click OK. Then it'll ask you for your password, so I'll have to um, slide out my keyboard. So, I'll type in my password, and I'll take it out of this screen so that you can't see what I'm typing. Okay, so there we go. Now we click OK, and my screen will appear on my Nokia N810 screen. Of course, I can click the Full Screen button to go into full screen mode.
Okay, and so here you go. You can use the scroll bars to scroll around and the keys to type. Of course, there's no real way to do the Apple key.
Okay, so you can also exit this. So, that's how to use VNC Viewer on your Nokia N810 to control your MacBook, um, or MacBook Pro, or iMac—any Mac that runs Leopard.
So, thank you for watching. Backheads101, subscribe, and um, goodbye.
