Flash Actionscript Tutorial 1 - Play and Pause Buttons

Hey guys! Is Mac is over one? Today we were doing a flash tutorial. I'm gonna be using ActionScript. It's going to be a tutorial on how to make a basic play/pause button.

So I already made an animation, and if we test the animation, it's just a guy running. First of all, you want to draw. You want to make a new layer, which is that. In the new layer, you want to draw two buttons. I'm just going to draw a square; you can make them whatever you want.

Then you want to convert both of them to buttons, which you do by right-clicking, go down to convert to symbol, and from type, select button. Then I'll do this for this. Once you've done this, you want to open up the actions, which you can do by either right-clicking, go down to actions, or you can press a function F line.

They're going to type on Open Parenthesis release those parentheses open curly. This is going to be the play one, so I'll do play opening closed parentheses semi-colon. For the other button, you want to do the same thing, but for stop. So on release, stop both and closed parenthesis anymore.

Now, if you click this button, it'll stop. I think they click this button, it'll play. You can mess around with it and make one button for both. So look out for more flash tutorials. Thanks for watching! Mac, is it one? Subscribing goodbye!
