Добро пожаловать в Стэнфорд на курс "Биология поведения человека". Что еще? Причудливо, обнаружили, что крыса тоже реагирует на определенные стимулы. Например, если щекотать их за ребра, они хихикают. Да, на это идут ваши налоги, вместо того чтобы тратиться на вещи вроде атомных бомб.

Значит, крысы умеют хихикать в ультразвуковом диапазоне. Ничего не слышно без декодера крысиного хихиканья, и они реагируют логичным образом: щекочешь их - они хихикают, а затем приходят за добавкой, проявляя комплексы действий.

И только если записать звук в нужной чистоте, когда они пищат и хихикают, и включить затем запись, другие крысы услышат и придут с проверкой. Потому что слуховой стимул в данном случае - хихиканье крысы - вызывает у других особей реакцию: вроде «пойдем, посмотрим, где там вечеринка».
