Стоит ли нам отказаться от концепции ответственности и вины полностью? Именно так, кстати, с похвалой то же самое. Но вопрос, означает ли это, что убийцы могут свободно ходить по улицам, раз они теперь ни в чём не виноваты? Конечно, нет, естественно, нет.

Как с автомобилем: если у машины не работают тормоза, мы на ней не ездим, ведь это опасно, можно кого-нибудь убить. Сломанные тормоза чинят. А если поведенческая нейрология знает, как привести их в порядок, придётся поставить машину в гараж, и это нормально.

Нужно защищать общество от реальной угрозы, но никто не возьмётся утверждать, что машина виновата и не заслуживает проехаться вокруг парка прекрасным воскресным днём. Заслуги, вина, ответственность, справедливость, воздаяние — все эти слова абсолютно неприменимы к автомобилю, у которого слетели тормоза.
