Jitsik Application Form

Hey guys, this is Matt from Kids101, and today I wanted to make a video talking to you a little bit about what Jitsik is and what my plans are for Jitsik. So, um, if you don't already know, Jitsik is a team of people who make apps and write software.

So, pretty much right now we currently make apps for the iPhone, and we're planning on expanding to Mac apps and other things. But right now, we just make iPhone apps. So, um, Jitsik right now consists of me, Alex, and Tovia. Tovia is the graphics artist; he does pretty much all the graphics. He does like maybe 70% or something. I do like 30% because I enjoy graphics too.

Alex is like the main programmer; he writes like pretty much all the code for our applications. My job includes making some decisions on what I plan to do with Jitsik. I help run the way some of the things work. Like, um, when we upload apps to the App Store, it's through my account, so I take care of that process and things like that.

Right now, I wanted to change the way Jitsik works. I had a couple plans in mind for how I wanted to do that. I wanted to, instead of having just one person do each job, I wanted to make teams to work together.

So, um, the teams I could think of were like a web development team, a graphics team, and a programming team. Each team would work collaboratively. I could say, "Hey, can you do this and this by next week?" So I would give requirements that have to be met, and then the rest is up to you; you could use your own creativity in how you do it.

You don't actually have to know everything. Like, if you're on the web development team, you can know PHP but not JavaScript, because there'll be other people on your team to help you. So, knowing everything's not essential, and you'll work with other people on your team.

My plan was just to have a couple different teams, maybe two or three, and each team would be small so we can work on projects together. Now, I was making this video because we have a lot of subscribers, and I was just interested in, well, maybe you guys wanted to join one of the Jitsik teams.

If you do want to join the Jitsik team, I put a survey, like a form, just so I can get a better idea of who you are, on our website, jitsik.com. I'll have a link to it in the description of the video. But, uh, before you do that, I'd like to talk to you more about what you're doing, that way you don't sign up for something you don't want to do. So please, just watch the rest of this video.

First off, if you want to sign up to work with Jitsik, please just don't do it for the money. We're not some big company, and I'll pay you if I can. But like, a lot of our apps are free, and even when we do make paid apps, we don't charge that much. They're not that popular, so I'll pay you if I can, but don't go for the money; you shouldn't expect to get a lot of money out of this.

If you wanted to do this, it would be more like you could help make apps on the App Store and work with people to do that. If you don't know everything, you can have other people to work with you. I take care of all expenses for things required; we're not really a company, more like a team.

I paid for our Mac App Store account, our iPhone App Store account, and we have a website. So, you won't have to pay for these things that you normally would have to do if you wanted to make apps for the App Store by yourself. Those are some of the reasons why someone might want to join—not for the money. Don't be like, "Alright, so I did this; now I'm expecting a $100 check," because that's probably just not going to happen.

I'll pay you if I can and a fair share for what you're doing compared to how many people there are, but yeah, there's probably not going to be much money involved.

So if you are interested in working with the Jitsik team, you could either be good at math but not know code, which is good for joining the programming team, or know some programming languages, or you want to join the graphics team, the web development team. Or if you just think of something else that you might think is useful, take this form.

This form just asks you basically who you are, what kind of things you've done, if I can see some of your work, and why do you want to join Jitsik. If you don't have a website, it's not a big deal; just leave that field blank. If you don't know a programming language, just say "other."

This is just to get an idea of who you are—it's not like you have to know this and this and this. So, if you're interested in Jitsik and joining the team, please complete the form. Thanks for watching!
