Очевидно, что религия защищает глубоко верующих людей от тревожных расстройств в какой-то мере.

И это абсолютно логично. Что такое тревога? Как психология объясняет стресс? Мы его испытываем, когда ощущаем, что не контролируем ситуацию, когда не можем предугадать, что случится.

Когда нам не хватает поддержки, когда мы не можем объяснить те события, которые и вызывают стресс. Вера как будто бы решает эти проблемы, объясняет, почему всё именно так.

А ещё лучше, если эта система предполагает наличие некоего всесильного существа или существ, которые любят нас и приглядывают за нами.

И совсем замечательно, если эти высшие силы любят нас, а то и ненавидят наших врагов. Такое мировосприятие — невероятно эффективная защита.

Впрочем, если уж мы говорим о том, что мышление религиозного человека помогает справиться со многими причинами тревожности, надо напоминать, что зачастую религия решает проблемы, которые сама и породила. Как-то так.
