Вот всё, что вокруг сейчас почти никак не напоминает о нём, потому что Пулково было полностью уничтожено. Старинная Пулковская обсерватория была просто снесена под корень, до фундаментов, во время Великой Отечественной войны, когда пулковские высоты, с которых очень удобно было обстреливать Ленинград, оборонялись, что называется, из последних сил. Их удалось отстоять, и немцы не вышли сюда. Но огромное количество народа здесь погибло из-за этого.

Все строения обсерватории, все они были уничтожены. Так вот, я думаю об этом в старом, прежнем Пулкове, а Пулкове, которого давно уже нет. Первый состав Пулковской обсерватории составлял пять человек. Вот это и были те, кто по сути дела создал мировую славу Пулковской обсерватории. Ну, во всяком случае, заложил её.
