Macheads101's Web Chat Room

Hey guys, this is Mac Heads1 with a video on our new chat system on maadsand1.com.

This allows you to talk with all the other users on Macedonone.com that are using the chat system. This is not confined to the messaging system, which is also very nice, but it'll be an extra feature that you'll be able to use.

Um first of all, when you log into your account, let me just show you. When you click login, then you type your username and your password, there's a new button called "Try Our New Beta Chat Room." When you click that beta chat room here, it'll post in the chat room your username, space, then "enters chat room," space, and then the time, um GTM time, that you enter the chat room.

Um then you can send messages to contribute to the chat, like "Hello there," um things like that that everyone else will see. It'll have your username here in red and then the message in black. Whenever anyone else joins this chat room, um they will also have a separate entry that says their name, "enters chat room," the time, and then their username.

Whenever they send a message into the chat room right now, no one else is in this chat room, obviously, and I'll just click log off to exit the chat room. So that's our chat room program, um and that's um cool.

Um so not only do we have that great chat room, this is only a beta, so it should even be getting better than that soon. Um and also when you log out, it'll also post something in green that says you've logged out. Let me just show you what that would look like. I'll log back in for a second to the chat and show you— it looks like this.

And it's actually in pink, sorry, my bad, or purple, whatever you want to call that. So there are a bunch of different colors that it uses for different things.

Um after a few messages get contributed, like "Hello there," um like a lot of messages, let me just paste this in a few times, and after a little while, they will start to get a scroll bar right here.

So once a lot of people have been chatting all day, this goes down pretty far. So we're going to have um a program right now. I will clear the chat room every once in a while, but we're going to have a program that, um if people go on, it will start sweeping the website at 12:00 every night.

So that way, um this website doesn't get overfilled. But we hope that every day, while this isn't filled, that this scroll bar gets really small and there are a lot of people chatting here all at once. If there aren't, you can just log in, leave your message for anyone else to see, like "Hey, all check out mkids101.com," and then people who log in from now on will see that until the end of the day.

So this is our chat room that we've put on our website, and it will just allow people to um basically use um talk to each other more conveniently. We can have different users go on this chat room, and if you want to use this chat room, it's basically an IM client. But if you don't want everyone to be able to read it, you can always encrypt the stuff you're sending back and forth with um Crypt Tad or whatever the dashboard widget is that I showed people, or whatever you want to use um to encrypt your stuff. You can just turn it into Base64.

So this is a cool chat room, and we hope to see a lot of people using it all the time because it's pretty cool.

So um, and also we ask, please don't be rude in these chat rooms, don't be mean to people, and um also don't ask people for personal information. Um we have the ability to kick you off of the chat room, and we don't want to have to. So just keep it um PG and um don't say things that you don't mean or that are bad.

So um thank you for watching, mids, and unsubscribe. Goodbye.
