iPhone Video Upload Process
Hey guys, this is Mac Heads 101, and ever since I got my iPhone 3GS, people have been asking me a lot of questions about it. So first off, as you can see, it is jailbroken. I'm going to be making a couple of videos about how to jailbreak it and my favorite jailbreak apps soon.
But right now, my top question was, what's the uploading to YouTube process like? So basically, I'm just going to be on YouTube. You've seen a lot of videos on YouTube from people's iPhones saying "iPhone video quality test." So I'll make one of those, but also so that you can get the idea of the quality of the camera.
I'll also make a video where I'm uploading it to YouTube, and you get to watch my iPhone do that so you can see the process.
The first thing is I'm going to open the camera application over here, and as you can see, there is autofocus. So I can tap on anything, and it focuses on it. So basically, I'm going to tap on okay, and then you can slide this right over here, and it'll start making a video instead.
There I believe they're still autofocus, so I'm just going to focus it on me. Hold on, it's harder than it looks. Okay, so there we go, focus it on me and record.
Hey guys, this is Mac Heads 101, and this is just a video quality test of the iPhone's video camera. I'll be uploading this to YouTube, so here I'm just going to show you around my room. That way, you can get an idea of the video quality. And yeah, that's my computer.
Okay, and so now I'm going to stop it, and the video is going to be right there. So I'm just going to go right over there, and here's my video. I can edit it if I want to, but I'm not going to edit it right now, 'cause yeah.
So basically, now I go to the video. Here it is, quality. So I'm going to pause it, and I click on this button right over here, and I say send to YouTube. Pretty simple.
So it's compressing the video, so it's a quicker upload to YouTube. Okay, so first off, it wants your YouTube username, so I'm going to write in Mac Heads 101. Now I'm going to enter our password.
Okay, so now I'm going to press sign in. Okay, so there we go. Now it's going to bring me to a page that asks me, uh, okay, so I don't know how well you can see this. I'm just going to turn the brightness down a little bit. Brightness.
Okay, you guys should be able to see a little bit better now. So the first tab asks me for the title, so I'm just going to say, um, "iPhone video quality test." In the description, I'll say, uh, "I'm testing iPhone video quality." Basically, same thing, but whatever.
Test the iPhone video quality. Period. And I misspelled "iPhones" right over there, so I'm just going to uncapitalize the I, because that's how it's spelled. Hold on, okay, and right, lowercase i.
Now under tags, uh, I'll just write iPhone. Okay, so as you can see, I wrote a tag, and then there's a new line for a new tag. So I'm just going to write on the next line, um, video. I'll show you this.
Okay, as soon as I start writing on this, another line's going to appear for another tag, so I don't need that many tags. So I'm just going to, so watch, as soon as I... I'm just going to write, um, Mac. M... it's hard to type like this.
M... see, and a new line came up. A... C... there we go. And under, uh, category, as usual, science and technology. So just scroll all the way down to science and technology, then I click publish right over there, and we have this little animation of a bar moving and shows us it moving on YouTube.
Bit, so basically now that's done, and it says "view on YouTube," "tell a friend," or "close." I'll say "view on YouTube." Now it opens up the YouTube application, and it's already on YouTube for us to see.
So I'm just going to click right there, um, but it's on YouTube. It's not processed yet, so we can't actually see it. But yeah, that's basically it.
And with the new YouTube application, you can actually see, because it lets you sign in. You can see this is another video I'm uploading, um, "iPhone 3GS unboxing." So yeah, that's basically it.
Uh, thanks for watching, Mac Heads 101. Subscribe and goodbye.
