Представьте, что вы плывёте в пустоте. Вдруг у вас над головой загорается свет и начинает распространяться во все стороны. Любые будущие события, всё, что может с вами произойти и что произойдёт, заключено внутри этой сферы.

Потому что единственный способ оказаться за её пределами - это преодолеть скорость света в двухмерном пространстве. Это будет не сфера, а растущий круг на графике. Время движется вверх и, делая снимки через равные промежутки, получится таки световой конус будущего.

Оси координат обычно располагают так, чтобы свет распространялся под углом 45°. Этим конусом ограничено буквально всё пространство-время, с которым вы можете хотя бы надеяться так или иначе соприкоснуться.
