Hide The Stuff In Your Trash

Hey guys, this is Mad Kids1. This is going to be a video on how to hide the fact that your trash has stuff in it. Right now, I don't have anything in my trash, and that means that the trash—the picture of the trash icon in the dock—is empty. If I did have trash, there would be some white virtual white paper inside of that trash can.

So basically, um, in this video, I'm going to be showing you how to keep stuff in your trash so you don't have to empty your trash, but at the same time make it look like you don't have stuff in your trash. This is useful for me; I actually use this sometimes when I'm making a video, and I don't exactly want to empty my trash because maybe I've thrown away some things I don't want to or something like that. Or I want to make it look like I have stuff in my trash, but I don't want to find something to delete. I don't know why I'd want to do that, but okay.

So, um, basically what you want to do—and in the description of this video, there will be a link to download our application that lets you do this—or you can go to Macad One's website and select downloads, then select dashboard apps. And right here is Trash Masker, and if you um, click this, it'll start downloading right away. This is actually pretty good, so I'll quit out of Safari.

So right here is Trash Masker, and basically just double click this to install it. Now, before I install it, I'm going to copy this to my desktop, delete it, so now I have something in my trash, and you can see that there's white paper in my trash. So let's say I want to make my trash look empty without being empty. I'll just open up Trash Masker.

Okay, click install, then click keep. Okay, so now, right now, if I want to make it look empty, just click this button. If I want to make it full, click this button. Okay, now it still got stuff in it. I mean, yeah, and if I click empty again, hey, it's empty! What'd you know?

So that's um, that's a cool trick on how to do this, but as soon as you click it in your dock, if it has stuff in it, and it's appearing to be empty is um, actually for um, a good reason. If you click it and there's stuff in it, it'll look full again because it, it’s no longer being tricked. Um, so that, that's how to make your trash look empty or full. You can also just delete this, um, but so that's basically um, how to do it. That's how to um, use Trash Masker to hide what's in your trash.

Um, I find this useful, and I do it um, in some of my videos, and I think it's a good idea to just give it a download, try it out. Um, this is actually version 1.0.1 because I've been working on this and using it for a little while before this video. I've had it for maybe a month right now, and um, so as you can see in the about, it's a version 1.0.1.

Um, so it's not the original, um, but before it didn't have these nice icons; it just had buttons because I was the only one using it. So now it has buttons, and that's even better interface. So um, that's Trash Masker. Give it a download, try it out.
