Кошки до приручения в дикой природе с рыбой были на вы. Они в основном по пустыням до степя, вот их предок - степная кошка.

Тогда почему же сейчас за рыбу они готовы продать душу? Раз они не питались рыбой на протяжении тысячелетий, то их инстинкты не должны их в эту сторону подталкивать.

Из пяти вкусовых рецепторов у кошек не работают рецепторы горького и сладкого. Зато у этих абсолютных хищников хорошо работают рецепторы умами, то есть мясного вкуса. На вкусовые рецепторы вообще действуют аминокислоты и нуклеотиды.

Ученые предположили, что для кошек умами должно восприниматься совсем иначе, чем для людей. Мясо для них скорее как сладость.

Но были еще особенности. При экспериментах с разными веществами, нуклеотидами и аминокислотами кошки очень любезны относились к десятину и инозин монофосфату. Эти вещества как раз в большом количестве содержатся в ту.
