Are you clearing a path for me? Yeah, thank you. All right, I'm coming through.

Work on this piece over here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Taming their 1-acre hillside property by hand is a non-stop project for Tony and Amelia.

"Boom shakalaka! Boom shakalaka! God, when was the last time you tried using this axe?"

"I think maybe I can use the bill hook 'cause I think it works a lot better for this."

"It does work better, but I'm using it. So, you know, we have this one bill hook, and Tony doesn't like to share it because the bill hook is the best tool for cutting this wood."

"I thought maybe we could take turns."

"I don't like that thing. I think they're kind of dumb, actually. I mean, hatchets have their place. It's just nothing compares to a bill hook."

"Bill hooks are one of the oldest metal tools. It's just an all-around good tool to have."

"Just let me use it for a little while."

"Whoa! I just cut this thing off in one swipe. Tell you one thing: I'm never using that tool again! This thing is all I just got to try using the bill hook. It is such a better tool, and I really want a bill hook of my own."

"I don't even think you can get them. They're really hard to find 'cause they're an antique. Like, we'd have to have someone to make us."

"Our neighbor Chris does metal work—like, straight-up legitimate blacksmithing."

"I know he wants bees."

"So you're thinking he'll make us a bill hook?"

"He wants bees; we want a bill hook. I smell a deal!"

"I smell one too. Let's bundle this up and get it over there and go talk to Chris."

"Okay, if we make one for me, I want it to be called a Betty hook."
