Что насекомый дышит иначе, чем, например, млекопитающий. Вместо того чтобы вдыхать кислород через лёгкие и распространять его по органам с помощью крови, насекомые обзавелись особыми трубочками - трахеями, которые доставляют кислород с поверхности тела прямо к клеткам. Гемолимфа же переносит питательные вещества, работает с иммунитетом, отводит метаболиты.

Но именно газообменов уже давно возникает вопрос: а как некоторые очень активные и подвижные насекомые получают достаточно кислорода для того, чтобы поддерживать свой очень высокий метаболизм? Исследователи провели тщательный анализ гемолимфы у личинок плодовых мушек. Так-то клетки гемолимфы содержат гемоцианин.

Однако если их удалить, то насекомым резко недостаёт кислорода. И наоборот, если вокруг обычных личинок понизить уровень кислорода, то эти иммунные...
