Архитектурная самоизоляция

Итак, в одном научном эксперименте исследовали поведение муравьёв чёрных садовых муравьёв в условиях, когда в колонии появлялись заражённые особи. Дизайн эксперимента был таков: имеются группы из 180 муравьёв. Им даётся возможность построить свои гнёзда, но спустя день в колонию подселяются патогенным грибком или чистые.

Вот тут-то и начинаются удивительные перемены. Заражённые колонии начинают строить свои гнёзда быстрее. При этом они создают больше туннелей и закладывают больше пространства между ними, а также располагают входы подальше друг от друга. То есть насекомые начинают делать то, что помогает остановить распространение заболевания: строить более разобщённость по самоизоляции. И к тому же заражённые особи начинают проводить больше времени вне муравейника.
