Apple Keyboard, Magic Mouse, and Apple Remote Review
Hey guys, this is Mackinzone on with a video on some new reviews on Apple products that they just came out with.
Now, before I start this video, I will say sorry we haven't been making too many videos recently. It's because we've been working intensely on our new company, Jitsik. We've been trying to come out with some pretty cool apps for different age groups.
Um, so now back to the review. So Apple came out with, um, kind of silently, a few new products such as the Apple remote. Pretty sleek; it's almost like the Nano, um, that no one seemed to notice they have had for a long time. The wireless Apple keyboard, and they came out with the Mighty Mouse. That wasn't that silent, but I don't think it was that big to people. So I thought I'd get all three of these products and make a review on all of them.
So first of all, the Apple remote. It might look like this is like an iPod and you can spin your finger around it like an iPod, but it's really just four buttons on the side. So that's how to do it. You can enter Front Row, you can play and pause pretty much everything the old Apple remote can. You can also use System Preferences on your computer to go into Security to pair your Apple remote with, um, right here. You can pair your Apple remote so that way no one else's Apple remote, um, works on your computer. So that way no one else can mess around with your computer when they're near you.
So that's the Apple remote. I think it's really nice; it's cool to have, just kind of useful. I haven't used it that much yet.
The second product that a lot of people have different opinions on is the Apple keyboard. The Apple keyboard, in my opinion, was kind of a disappointment because, um, you know, it was nice hooking it up, but it's just small keys for a desktop keyboard. It's just a soft, teeny little keyboard, and it has all the functionality that my Mac Pro's keyboard has. In fact, its keys are in the exact same place with the exact same icons. But I'd like it if it was a little bigger, like a PC keyboard. I hate saying it, but most PC keyboards are better than this. But, um, fortunately for me, I have gotten used to this keyboard and I'm pretty nice at using it. So pairing your keyboard only takes a few seconds, and then it works pretty seamlessly.
Okay, and then the final product, which is the most um, interesting in my opinion, the Magic Mouse. The Magic Mouse is not really magic, of course, but it's a touch-sensitive mouse. So you can touch it, like on an iPod touch, and it detects your touches. And it's on one big button, just like on the new Mac Pros. So I can just, if I go on my screen, let's demonstrate this to you, one of the cool features is a two-finger swipe. So I can put two fingers on it and slide backwards with my mouse to switch.
Now, one of the issues with the Mighty, uh, Magic Mouse that you might have just noticed me experience is that when you slide your fingers on it to do a two-finger swipe, the mouse is very light and it just kind of moves on your desk. That gets kind of annoying and it's hard to do the two-finger swipes. So the two-finger swipe is not good, in my opinion.
Now, the scrolling is very nice, and, um, it picks up your momentum and keeps on scrolling to your momentum. So I think this, um, this scrolling is really nice. The right-clicking, most of the time when I right-click it works, but sometimes I right-click and it just doesn't really click. So that's another, um, negative. But overall, I think this is better than a standard PC mouse.
Um, so that's a review on the three minor Apple products that I'm going to, um, be reviewing. I hope you got them. No, I wouldn't really recommend the keyboard, but you'll get it anyway. Try it for yourself.
So, um, thanks for watching Mac 811, subscribe, and goodbye.
