British Columbia's Fall Trip | National Geographic

British Columbia fall road trip. We started in Vancouver and are heading up the Okanagan Valley. I want people to take away from the experience of Backyard Farm that they have made a real authentic connection with myself, with my farm, with our community, with our region, and with the people sitting around the table; that's what I want. An authentic, 100% memory-making experience.

What keeps fascinating me as we travel through the Okanagan is this unique ability to engage and escape. Every winery has a story. Every landscape keeps inviting us to explore. You are on the Naramata bench. The entrance to the Naramata bench, British Columbia, 45 wineries in 11 kilometres. When you look how over this lake, and almost every winery has a beautiful outlook, I think that's what attracts people to come here.

There's something unique happening here. We've met so many passionate wine makers. They've immersed us in the process. They've left us with this feeling that we've experienced something you just can't get anywhere else. We're in Myra Canyon, riding the trestles of the historic Kettle Valley Railway. We are in Wells Gray Provincial Park. The land of waterfalls, and this is Helmcken Falls.

Place is stunning. Just approaching Mount Robson, true icon of British Columbia. The tallest mountain here is just shy of 13,000 feet. I've been wanting to come here for a long time.
