Jordan Peterson’s New Online University

And then with my daughter Michaela, I've started this Peterson Academy. Our plan is we want to drive the cost of a bachelor's degree down to four thousand dollars.

We've got 30 professors on board so far. I've been able to identify stellar lectures from all over the world. They give four two-hour lectures on whatever they really want to teach about.

The rule is we'll put an audience together for you in the studio. We want you to teach what you love at the edge of your ability. We'll offer that to as many people as we possibly can who are pursuing accreditation.

What we'll do is take two or three of those eight-hour lectures, bundle them together, and that'll give you one university credit.

We've developed a good app that adds a social component to it so that people can discuss the lectures while they're watching them. They can make social contacts and maybe have meetup groups in different cities.

Then, we're going to set the grading system in stone. So the grade you'll get for this university will be your performance; there'll be no grade inflation.

We're hoping that a degree from this university will indicate to employers a true level of competence. We're going to roll that out; we hope in November.

A common complaint where I’m from, where I’m surrounded by lots of smart overachievers, is that happiness is for stupid people or happiness is for lazy people. A lot of times, it’s not. Runners will say, “I don’t want to be happy because I want to be succ…
Intuition for why independence matters for variance of sum | AP Statistics | Khan Academy
So in previous videos, we talked about the claim that if I have two random variables, X and Y, that are independent, then the variance of the sum of those two random variables, or the difference of those two random variables, is going to be equal to the s…
Invalid | Vocabulary | Khan Academy
Hello wordsmiths! The word we’re featuring in this video is invalid. That’s right, it’s not true—or rather, that’s what it means: incorrect, false, not accepted. It’s an adjective. It comes from Latin, where the prefix “in” means not and the word “valiru…

Work is the set of things that you have to do, that you don't want to do
What would you say the key differences are between success and failure? What does one startup have versus one that doesn’t make it? Uh, luck is a big one. Timing is everything, but you kind of make your own luck, you know, if you stay at it long enough. …
Beaker Ball Balance Problem
Here is the set up. I have a balance and two identical beakers, which I fill with exactly the same amount of water, except in one of the beakers there is a submerged ping pong ball tethered to the base of the beaker. And in the other there is an identical…
