Голосование по относительному большинству с одним победителем заставляет выбирать стратегически.

Представим, что у нас есть пять партий. Одна из них окажется самой маленькой и ни за что не победит. Зачем тогда отдавать за неё голос?

Тоже будет верно, когда на выбор четыре партии или три. В результате получается, что власть сосредотачивается в руках самых крупных партий, что приводит к формированию двухпартийной системы. Это настолько распространённое явление, что ему даже дали закон Дюверже.

Итак, система с относительным большинством не идеальна. Что же делать? Например, пусть кандидат побеждает только если наберёт не меньше 50% плюс один голос.
