iWork '09 Trojan
Hey guys, this is Mids01. Today is going to be, um, a video facing a kind of serious matter. Um, word has gotten out that a pirated copy of IOR 09, um, believes to be a Trojan virus.
Um, there is a free antivirus that will get rid of this, um, Trojan virus if you have downloaded a pirate copy of IOR 9, which is not a smart idea anyway. Pirating is bad, and, um, we will just, this is a quick video on how to get rid of the virus if you've downloaded IOR 09 illegally.
Um, and this is, in fact, um, a good thing to do because the virus, it's a Trojan virus. It makes other people be able to hack into your computer and run various commands on your computer, um, and download additional tools onto your computer for them to hack into you even more.
Um, the first thing I suggest you do is go into System Preferences before you download anything, and go under Security and select Firewall. Now, um, there should be no applications here that say anything like iWork, um, or anything like that. I know of every application in here; I know exactly what it is and I know what it's doing there.
So, um, if you don't recognize one, feel free to delete it from the list. Um, second of all, you want to go into Firefox or Safari. I'm going to be using Firefox, but you can also do this on Safari. You want to go to the following URL, which is on our website.
Um, if you want to go here, the link to this URL is in the description of this video. I know not many of you have gotten this; only 20,000 people approximately have gotten this virus so far. Um, but if you're one of those people, you might want this.
Um, then you go to this URL and it will ask you to open it, and um, so you want to select okay. And, um, the disk image will get mounted. You don't really need to drag IOR Services Trojan removal tool into Applications, but you can if you want to. I don't suggest it because you're only going to need this once.
So then double click on this, select open. Okay, so right here it is. So now all you want to do is click scan, and it will scan all the various places where this virus installs itself.
And right here, it'll say it's not detected if you haven't gotten it, and if you have gotten it, it'll say it'll, um, ask you to remove it and then you will remove it. Now, I have never actually had this Trojan, but um, if I did, I would want it off because it's a very bad thing.
I will point out that this, um, Trojan fixer is not ours; we did not make it. Someone else made it, and this is just a hard link to download their version. Um, so thank you for watching, mad kids and one. Subscribe and goodbye.
