Аорту недавно признали отдельным органом. Да, сразу два крупных сообщества хирургов выпустили соответствующее заявление. Основание для такого изменения следующее: во-первых, аорта имеет довольно сложный путь формирования ещё в эмбриональном состоянии.

Во-вторых, её характеристики, в том числе гистология и молекулярное строение, отличают её от других артерий. В-третьих, она обладает рядом особых функций и взаимодействий с окружающими органами. Более того, для её лечения операции нужны особые навыки и взаимодействие сразу нескольких типов специалистов.

Теперь в человеке насчитывается не 79 органов. Да, есть разные оценки, но давайте сойдёмся на том, что их было 79, а теперь стало 80.
