Breaking News. Right now, out of Thailand. Rescue teams are working through the night to save 12 boys and their coach, trapped inside a cave. The monsoon had come early. The conditions in the cave were impossible. There was a very strong feeling that the children couldn't be still alive. We need expert cave divers out here. The Thai Navy SEALs put everything they had into it. But only this group of people who do it as a weekend hobby has those skills.

I was thinking this has actually got our name all over it. You couldn't see your hand in front of your face. Trying to wriggle through holes that I couldn't wriggle through. Finding a bigger space. Sliding through. And then repeating. Again and again. How many of you? They're all alive. Thirteen? Yeah, thirteen. We look into each other's faces thinking, "We may be the only ones that ever see them."

Finding the boys was the easy part. They didn't have a clue how to get those kids out. We didn't think it was possible to dive the children out. We came up with an actual logistical plan. I told him, "That's a horrible idea." And then Rick said, "What if it's the only idea?"

We were brutally honest. We promised multiple fatalities. It's about controlling your emotions and your fear. Panic is death, in the cave. My mind was on overdrive. Oh my god, am I gonna be good enough? If they die, it's gonna tear me apart. If you don't dive... ...everyone will die. I told the guys, "This is a one way trip. Once you start you cannot stop. Believe. Believe."

So let’s say you have yourself some kind of multivariable function, and this time let’s say it’s got some very high dimensional input. So X1, X2, on and on and on, up to, you know, X sub n for some large number n. Um, in the last couple videos, I told yo…
Adding decimals with ones and tenths parts
Last video, we got a little bit of practice adding decimals that involved tths. Now let’s do slightly more complicated examples. So let’s say we want to add four to 5.7, or we could read the second number as 5 and 7⁄10. Pause this video and see if you ca…
Fourier series coefficients for cosine terms
So we’ve been spending some time now thinking about the idea of a Fourier series, taking a periodic function and representing it as the sum of weighted cosines and sines. Some of you might say, “Well, how is this constant weighted cosine or sine?” Well, y…
Weak base–strong acid reactions | Acids and bases | AP Chemistry | Khan Academy
Ammonia is an example of a weak base, and hydrochloric acid is an example of a strong acid. Ammonia reacts with hydrochloric acid to form an aqueous solution of ammonium chloride. Because this is an acid-base neutralization reaction, there’s only a single…
