iPhone vs iPhone 3G
Hey guys, this is Mac Heads One, and today we're gonna do a video comparison versus against the iPhone 3G on the standard iPhone.
So first off, I'm gonna start with the back, which is, um, probably what you notice the most as the difference. The back on the iPhone is this, um, this, uh, chrome metal. On the iPhone 3G, they have this piece of plastic on the bottom, where the antenna is. Instead of dividing it, on the iPhone 3G, they actually made that whole entire thing with a piece of plastic. They also made it a much shinier piece of plastic. Also, if you look at the iPhone 3G, they actually rounded it on the edges, so it's more of a circle shape. When on the iPhone, it's more like blocky, like a deck of cards.
Now, okay, now we're gonna do the top. What you'll, the first thing you'll notice is that they, um, the flush headphone jack. The iPhone now supports more headphones, and they made the headphone hole much smaller, as you can see right over there. Wrong way! Okay, and the second thing you're going to notice is the sleep/wake button is black, and there it's silver. It's because all of the buttons that were black on the iPhone, they now made silver. Now the iPhone 3G and the iPhone are about the same weight; I wouldn't really say anything about that.
And now, um, now comes the bottom. They, um, they did do the, um, they changed the speaker grids. So here they're actually little holes, and here there's a little grid on the iPhone 3G. For, uh, idea of the thickness comparison, I'm just gonna put them both on this box so you can see. I put them both face down, and so you can see they're pretty much exactly the same thickness. Um, maybe, maybe the iPhone might be a little bit thicker.
Okay, now the front looks pretty much exactly the same, but it's not. So the first thing, the first difference is, before, okay, again, so the top thing on the iPhone has this little, like, whole thing, and the top thing on the iPhone 3G has a grid. The iPhone has the metal all around there, and the iPhone 3G has the metal all around it too, but actually has a little, little, um, line crack in between where you can put, like, your fingernail or something like that. I don't know why they did that, but they did.
Now we're gonna do a speed comparison, so I'm just gonna do a cut here as I load google.com on both, um, and we'll see how fast it takes it to load. So let me just type it. Typing on is exactly the same. And, um, actually, um, you know how they say that the iPhone 3G fits more comfortably in your hands? What they mean by that is, um, since it's curved, instead of having to hold your fingers straight, you can actually curve your fingers, and it's more relaxing. So, um, before I got the iPhone, I was kind of confused what they meant by that. So that's what they mean, and actually it does feel more comfortable in your hands.
So, I'll just go to google.com. So this is using Edge, and this is using 3G. So at three, I'm just gonna say go on both. Okay, so ready, set, and go! So as you can see, the iPhone 3G loaded in about half the time that the iPhone did.
And there we go! So that's the end of our video comparison. I hope, um, this helped you. Thank you very much for watching. Have a nice day, and goodbye!
