Ном происходит от слова "Бис". Ну, два: "Да двойное" удвоение с латинского, и "номен". "Номен" - это имя.

А если перевести его на такой русский язык, то обычно Бином называют двучленом x + 5 или а + 2b. Вот, это примеры двучленов. Вот такие двучлена и называются бинома. Вид бинома Ньютона заключается в том, что Ньютон объясняет нам, как вот этот самый Бином, то есть двучлен, возвести в произвольную натуральную степень.

Итак, допустим, у нас есть a + b в степени N, то есть вот он, тот самый Бином, который мы возводим в степень N. Некоторые из вас, возможно, со школьной скамьи помнят такую формулу: квадрат суммы - АК + 2ab + B к. Но что будет, если, например, степень у нас десятая или, не дай Бог, сотое?
